Coconut Acid Oil (CAO) is a by-product obtained during the chemical refining of crude coconut oil. It is produced in the neutralization stage, where free fatty acids (FFA) are separated from refined edible coconut oil. Coconut Acid Oil primarily contains free fatty acids, neutral oil, moisture, and minor impurities. Due to its high lauric acid content, it is widely used in soap manufacturing, detergent production, biodiesel, animal feed (processed grade), and other industrial applications. It typically appears as a yellow to dark brown viscous liquid with a characteristic coconut fatty odor.
